FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Giving TuesdayINDIANAPOLIS, IN (May 4, 2020) – Fatheadz Eyewear is joining the #GivingTuesdayNow movement on behalf of the most vulnerable. #GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of grassroots generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.

On this global day of giving, the One Hope: Restoring Vision campaign is bringing together individuals and companies from the optical industry to unleash the philanthropic power of their networks, drive generosity, and bring hope into focus for the most vulnerable. Fatheadz has joined forces with RestoringVision to support this campaign and provide additional awareness of this important work.

“For people living in disadvantaged conditions that are compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic, a pair of reading glasses can make an immediate and significant difference in their ability to take care of their health, safety and that of their families,” said Pelin Munis, Executive Director, RestoringVision.

RestoringVision has set a goal of raising $150,000 to provide the gift of sight to the most vulnerable – people who are navigating through these trying times without the ability to see clearly. Thanks to a generous foundation gift, the first $150,000 raised will be matched.

“RestoringVision does incredible, life-changing work providing glasses to people living in impoverished communities, and Fatheadz is proud to join forces to help promote this important effort,” Rico Elmore, Fatheadz Founder and CEO, says. “We want to do all we can to support their endeavor to provide the gift of sight to those most in need.”

Fatheadz Eyewear, founded in Indiana in 2004, typically creates and offers eyewear specifically tailored to customers with heads too large to fit in standard width glasses comfortably. The company recently shifted operations with its partners to produce fluid protective goggles, safety glasses, and shields.
